Church Library Collection Now Online

Posted on 03/17/2009 by Rich Shipe

The church has a small but growing library of books, videos, and other resources that are available to the BRBC body. A special thanks goes out to Kim Walker for her diligent efforts in maintaining it! Now a listing of the complete collection can be found on the church website here. This listing is very basic but you can at least search it and determine if we have the book before looking for it in the library. As a reminder, if you have books you would like to donate to the library please contact Kim. The library is in room 104 in the lower level.

See the church library collection.

Election Prayer Time

Posted on 10/29/2008 by Rich Shipe

1 Timothy 2:1-3 says, “First of all, then, I urge that requests, prayers, intercessions, and thanks be offered on behalf of all people, even for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. Such prayer for all is good and welcomed before God our Savior.”

As citizens of the United States we have a unique role in our government as voters. Because of this we each play a role as members of that “authority” mentioned in 1 Timothy. So we should not only be praying for those who are elected but also for “We the people.”

This coming Tuesday is election day and we are planning to make an all day prayer room at the church available to anyone who would like to participate. Jack will be opening the doors at 7am and I’ll be closing it up at 7pm. The format is casual and anyone who would like to come for a time to pray and lift up those in authority over us on that day are more than welcome. Come for just a few minutes or several hours. Either way we encourage all believers to lift up the people of the United States of America in prayer.

Mini-Missions Potluck with Rogers Hellman

Posted on 08/11/2008 by Rich Shipe

Rogers Hellman, a former long-time BRBC member, left Purcellville in 2004 to start the Gnosis Project, with a focus towards getting improved medical care to the poorest people in Central America by providing the ability to collect and retain medical records even though people cannot read or write, or may not possess “official” government identification. Through a unique software tool and biometrics, their medical records can be stored on a computer in their villages so that medical histories are available to visiting physicians. Come to an after-church potluck to meet Rogers and hear about his ministry. RVSP by indicating your interest on the bulletin tear-off or contact Bob Mottice ([email protected]).
