“It’s not a method of evangelism—we stole it from Jesus!”
Kirk Cameron and Ray Comfort, co-hosts of the Way of the Master evangelism course, say that the eight-session program will teach believers how to bypass the intellect (the place of argument) and instead speak to the conscience (the place of the knowledge of right and wrong)—the way Jesus did. In the five weeks since Blue Ridge’s college and career LIFE group, called “Refuge,” has started the course, we have begun to develop a greater concern for the lost, overcome our fears about sharing the gospel, and have learned questions to ask a person that speak directly to the conscience. Born to a nominally Christian family who belonged to a traditional Armenian Orthodox Church, Abu Saad left his native land at age 14 when his family fled a devastating war. An elder from a local evangelical church visited the family while they were living in the new country and led Abu Saad to the Lord. (more…)
The “I” in LIFE stands for Inspires “Works of Ministry.” This is from Ephesians 4:12 which tells us that the Body of Christ, the church, works to equip the individual for the “works of ministry” that God has called that individual to do. So we need one another and others need us as we work together in the way that God has called us. We equip one another so that we can each do what God has called us to do.
Part of this task is first understanding and identify our spiritual gifts. This week’s podcast will quickly talk about how to help the the people in your group discover their spiritual gifts and start using them.

The LIFE Group ministry at Blue Ridge is an essential part of our mission as a church. Young people have the opportunity to serve in this important and exciting ministry by offering their gifts and talents to care for children ages 12 and under at our LIFE Group meetings.
The LIFE Group Childcare Worker Program is open to young women ages 14 and up. We see this as a fantastic opportunity for them to build up the rest of the body by making adult discipleship possible within our LIFE Groups. This program also provides an opportunity for young women to invest spiritually in the children under their care. In addition, this program will pay young women for their services as a token of our appreciation for their time and investment. (Pay is $15 / week for each 2-hour LIFE Group session.) (more…)
