Youth Group
We have a different approach to youth ministry than most churches. We believe that there is more to youth ministry than youth just having fun - although we DO HAVE FUN. Our goal in youth ministry is to get youth to minister and to become leaders! We open up our church ministries, such as teaching the younger kids, working in the infant/childcare, greeting, Levite Family, Worship Team, Outreach, Drama, and discipleship to teens. Teens have leadership positions throughout the infrastructure of Blue Ridge Bible Church.
Our youth group has a Sunday Morning Bible study that focuses on teaching the Scripture to young adults.
Every Wednesday night, from 7-8:30, up to 50 teenagers gather together for laughter, praise and worship, snacks, games and Bible Study. The worship time is led by the Youth Band, and is too loud for our pastor (or at least he jokingly says so).
Teenagers are part of our mentoring and discipleship ministries as well in two different ways. Teens can sign up to be mentored or discipled by a trained adult, AND they can also be equipped to disciple other teens.
Youth also participate in various activities such as camping, whitewater rafting, skiing, retreats, and multi-church activities like Acquire The Fire.
