Local Missions

We aspire to be a church that actively evangelizes the lost in obedience to Christ’s command, and in gratitude for God’s gracious love and forgiveness of sins through Christ’s death and resurrection. (II Corinthians 5:18-21) Therefore, we will go into our communities as humble representatives of Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit, loving others by sharing the hope we have in Him.

We see a church that is intentionally reaching people with the good news that a holy God reconciled sinful human beings to Himself through Christ. We will accomplish this mission by actively engaging our community, meeting both physical and spiritual needs to such a degree that people consider our church an indispensable part of our local society. We envision a people who share God’s heart for this community to the extent that they cannot help but pour out their lives for those in need, joyfully sharing the hope that can be found only in Jesus Christ. The church building, rather than being the center of community outreach, will instead be the place where each person and family can be equipped to go out and reach the people within their sphere of influence. As the Holy Spirit uses our people in the lives of their friends and neighbors, our church will see many new believers come to experience true and vibrant life in Christ. By God’s grace, we envision at least one-half of our new baptisms will represent those who have come to faith from outside our immediate church family.

And all these things are from God who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and who has given us the ministry of reconciliation. In other words, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting people’s trespasses against them, and he has given us the message of reconciliation. Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His plea through us. We plead with you on Christ’s behalf, “Be reconciled to God!” God made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we would become the righteousness of God. II Corinthians 5:18–21
